Most Americans carry some form of the human papilloma virus (also known as HPV) which results in warts forming on hands, feet or genitals. Warts are very embarrassing and unsightly, although not usually painful.

An all natural treatment to remove warts is to use tea tree oil as it contains antibacterial, antiviral and antifungal properties.

How to use tea tree oil on body warts

Read below to find out how you can use tea tree oil for warts:-

Step 1: Wash and dry your hands/feet around the area of the wart.
Step 2: Apply one drop of 100% essential tea tree oil (undiluted) onto the wart and cover with a bandage.
Step 3: Leave the bandage on for at least eight hours – overnight is best.
Step 4: Remove the bandage and wash the area. Either replace the bandage with another tea tree oil application straight away, or leave to air out for the day.

Repeat this process daily until the wart either falls off or disappears – this usually takes anywhere between one and four weeks.

If your skin becomes irritated using the undiluted tea tree oil on the wart, try making a 50/50 solution with half tea tree oil and half water or aloe vera gel. Obviously the stronger the solution the faster the wart should disappear.

Benefits of using tea tree oil on warts

Tea tree oil has antiviral, antiseptic and antibacterial properties, so it’s the perfect solution in battling the virus that causes common warts. Tea tree oil is relatively inexpensive to buy from your local pharmacist or drug store compared with other store-bought wart treatments.

You have the added benefit of knowing exactly what is going onto your skin - tea tree oil is a 100% all-natural oil.

Using tea tree oil to remove warts on your feet

The best way to treat warts on your feet is to apply the oil full strength (undiluted) to the warts two to three times daily. Because the skin on your feet tends to be a lot thicker and less sensitive than the skin on other parts of the body, you are more likely to get away with using a full strength application of tea tree oil – simply follow Steps 1 to 4 above.

If you find your feet are getting irritated by using the tea tree oil solution, try a 50/50 solution – half oil and half water.
