shampoo-tea-tree-oilWhat is tea tree oil shampoo?

Tea tree oil shampoo is simply shampoo with the oil of the tea tree infused into the mixture. It can be used to effectively treat dry scalp irritations as well as eliminating bacteria and fungus on the scalp. The tea tree oil in shampoo doesn’t cause imbalance in the skin’s natural bacteria and is a natural alternative to harsh chemicals.

Whilst there are many medical shampoos on the market that claim to be anti-fungal, tea tree oil shampoo offers a chemical-free alternative.

Tea tree oil shampoo for lice

We’ve all been there, the children come home from school saying their heads are itchy and we find eggs or lice in their hair.

Much of the head-lice shampoo on the market today is laden with harsh chemicals that kill animals on contact, imagine what that’s doing to your child's head, hair and most importantly their health?

Tea tree oil is a natural alternative to chemical-based head lice treatments used to treat children’s hair.

To make your own tea tree oil shampoo for lice treatment:-

  • Add 5 to 10 drops of pure tea tree oil to your regular shampoo, wash the child’s hair massaging the mixture thoroughly into the scalp. Do this every day until all lice eggs (nits) have been removed from the child’s hair.

To prevent further head louse infestation:-

  • Add 15-20 drops of essential tea tree oil to a mixture of water and conditioner - used to comb the child’s hair easily.
